Safety Inspections

Safety Inspections

Ensure road safety and the proper functioning of a vehicle with a safety / roadworthy inspection! Our mechanics will conduct an inspection to assess whether a vehicle meets the required safety standards and is roadworthy.

These inspections are typically required when a vehicle is sold, re-registered, or if it has been deemed unroadworthy by law enforcement or other authorities. The purpose of the inspection is to ensure that the vehicle meets minimum safety standards.

Safety inspections focus primarily on safety-related aspects of a vehicle. It does not guarantee the overall mechanical reliability or long-term condition of the vehicle. For a comprehensive assessment of a used car’s condition, it’s advisable to conduct a separate pre-purchase inspection, which often covers a wider range of mechanical and cosmetic aspects.

Braking system: Inspectors check the condition of brake pads, discs, lines, and the overall functionality of the braking system.

Suspension and steering: The condition of the suspension components, such as shock absorbers and springs, as well as the steering system, is evaluated.

Wheels and tyres: The condition of the tyres, including tread depth and signs of damage, is assessed. Wheels and rims are also inspected for any structural issues.

Lights and electrical systems: Inspectors ensure that all lights, including headlights, taillights, indicators, and brake lights, are in working order. They may also check the functionality of other electrical systems, such as wipers and horn.

Body and chassis: The overall condition of the vehicle’s body and chassis is examined for any signs of damage or rust that may affect its structural integrity.

Engine and drivetrain: Although not always extensively inspected, inspectors may check for visible signs of leaks or other issues that could impact the safe operation of the vehicle.
